How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Purchase Your Plan
Select the data allowance that matches your trip length. You will receive an email with your QR code and French phone number immediately after checkout.
  2. Install the eSIM
Scan the QR code in your device settings or use the direct installation link. The eSIM appears as a secondary line alongside your home SIM.
  3. Activate in Finland
Enable the eSIM line and turn on data roaming when you arrive. Your phone connects to local networks and your new number becomes active.
  4. Share Your Number
Give your French (+33) number to property managers, clinics, delivery services, and anyone who needs to reach you during your stay.

How the Voice Plan Works

Your Finland Voice eSIM combines mobile data with a working phone line. The number you receive is French (+33), which means callers dial an international number to reach you — it is not a local Finnish number.

Outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited while you are physically located in geographic Europe. This includes all of Finland and extends across the continent regardless of EU membership. Step outside Europe and outgoing service stops.

Incoming calls and SMS are free and work anywhere in the world. Bank verification codes, appointment confirmations, and callbacks all arrive whether you are in Helsinki, on a ferry to Tallinn, or connecting through Dubai. This global incoming reach paired with Europe-wide outgoing means the number stays functional throughout complex itineraries.

The data allowance depletes with use. When it runs out, or when the 30-day validity ends, the line closes entirely — calls, SMS, and data all stop together.

Is This Plan Right for You?

Choose the Voice plan when: You are staying in Finland for weeks and need a number that services can call or text. Property rentals, healthcare providers, and delivery companies often require a callback number. Banks and apps sending SMS verification codes will reach this number reliably. Business travellers attending meetings or coordinating with local contacts benefit from unlimited outgoing calls across Europe.

Choose a data-only plan when: You communicate primarily through WhatsApp, Telegram, or other messaging apps and do not need a callable number. Short visits where nobody needs to phone you directly do not require voice features. If you want to explore options without calls and SMS, the Finland Unlimited offers high-speed data without voice functionality — a better match when connectivity matters more than a phone line.

The French number also matters: if you specifically need a Finnish (+358) number for local credibility or regulatory reasons, this plan does not provide that.

Where the Number Works

The two directions of your phone line have different geographic reach, and understanding both helps you plan.

Outgoing: Europe-Wide

Make unlimited calls and send unlimited SMS while you are anywhere in geographic Europe. This includes Finland, neighbouring Sweden and Norway, and extends south to Portugal and east through the Baltic states. It is geography-based, not political — EU membership is not the boundary.

Incoming: Worldwide

Receive calls and SMS free of charge from anywhere on the planet, and they reach you regardless of your location. Standing in a Helsinki market or transiting through Tokyo, incoming communication works the same. This matters for bank codes sent during layovers or callbacks scheduled before you knew your exact itinerary.

If your Finland trip is purely data-driven — streaming, maps, social apps — and you have no need for voice capability, the Finland covers standard data plans that may suit shorter visits or lighter requirements.

Traveller Tips

  • Save your French (+33) number in your own contacts before you travel — you will need to share it accurately with property managers, clinics, and delivery services.
  • Test an outgoing call shortly after activation to confirm the voice service is working before you rely on it for important callbacks.
  • Set your voicemail greeting to mention you are reachable on this number temporarily — callers hearing a French carrier greeting may assume they dialled wrong.
  • Screenshot your eSIM QR code and store it offline in case you need to reinstall after a device reset during your trip.
  • Remember that outgoing calls stop working if you leave geographic Europe — plan any callbacks before crossing that boundary.
  • Check your data usage periodically through your device settings since the line closes entirely when the allowance runs out.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Voice eSIM provides a French (+33) number rather than a local Finnish number. This is how the service is structured by the provider. Callers reach you by dialling the French number, which works normally for receiving calls and texts. If you specifically require a Finnish (+358) number for local regulations or business reasons, this plan does not offer that.
No. The Finland Voice eSIM cannot be refilled or extended. When your data allowance is exhausted or the 30-day validity period ends, the entire line closes — data, calls, and SMS all stop. Choose a data tier that covers your full trip from the start, as there is no option to add more later.
Unlimited outgoing calls and SMS work only while you are physically located in geographic Europe. If you travel outside this area — to Asia, the Americas, or elsewhere — outgoing service stops. However, incoming calls and SMS continue to reach you free of charge anywhere in the world.
Yes. Incoming SMS messages arrive free of charge regardless of where you are in the world. Bank verification codes, airline confirmations, and app authentication messages sent to your French number will reach you whether you are in Finland or transiting through another country.
The line closes completely when validity expires. You lose access to calls, SMS, and data simultaneously. The French phone number is no longer active, so any calls or texts sent to it after expiry will not reach you. Plan your purchase timing so the 30-day window covers your entire Finland stay.
Yes. Anyone in the world can dial your French (+33) number and the call reaches you free of charge — you pay nothing to receive it. This works whether you are in Finland, elsewhere in Europe, or even outside Europe entirely. The caller pays their standard international rate to France.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Finland Voice eSIM bundles mobile data with a real phone number that supports calls and SMS. Outgoing calls and texts are unlimited while you are physically located anywhere in geographic Europe — not just Finland, but the entire continent from Portugal to the Nordics. Incoming calls and SMS work differently: they reach you free of charge anywhere in the world, whether you are hiking in Lapland or transiting through Singapore. This split geography means the number stays useful even when you step outside Europe temporarily. This plan fits travellers who need a callable number during their Finland stay. Property rentals, healthcare appointments, deliveries, and local services often require a phone number for confirmations and callbacks. Bank verification codes and app authentication messages arrive reliably on the included number. If your trip is data-only — streaming, navigation, messaging apps — then voice features add cost you will not use, and a standard data plan serves better. The number assigned is French (+33), not Finnish, so callers dial an international number to reach you. All plans run exactly 30 days from activation. The line cannot be refilled or extended: when data runs out or validity ends, the service closes. Plan your data tier for the full trip rather than assuming a top-up option exists.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

Can I install my eSIM before traveling?
Yes - setting it up before your trip is the easiest approach. Your confirmation email contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual SM-DP+ / activation codes (the same options are also available via sign in > Profile > My eSIMs > Install). While on Wi-Fi at home, install it with the one-tap link on your phone, or - to use the QR - show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with the phone you are setting up (not another phone). Installing does not start your plan: the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and its Data Roaming off until you are ready to start - if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on connects and starts the countdown immediately, even if you do not browse anything. Please note: once installed, an eSIM is considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.
Can I use my SIM card and eSIM at the same time?
Yes. On dual-SIM devices (most modern iPhones and Android phones), you can run your physical SIM and the eSIM simultaneously. Use your home SIM for calls and SMS, and the eSIM for mobile data. Keep in mind that leaving your home SIM active may trigger roaming charges if you use it for calls or texts abroad.
What happens if I pause my trip and return home?
Your eSIM keeps its validity period running whether you're using it or not - pausing your trip doesn't pause the timer. If you return home, the eSIM stays dormant on your device until you travel again or it expires. You can disable it in cellular settings to avoid accidental usage.
Is unlimited data really unlimited?
Unlimited plans provide unlimited data at high speed (4G/5G) up to a fair-use threshold defined per plan. Beyond that threshold, speeds may be reduced to 128 Kbps for the remainder of the validity period - still usable for messaging and basic browsing, but slower for streaming and video calls.
When should I set up my eSIM?
A Wi-Fi connection is required to install your eSIM, so we recommend setting it up before you leave home. Activation can happen later, either right before departure or after you land at your destination - but the initial QR scan needs Wi-Fi.
How do I delete an eSIM I no longer need?
On iPhone: Settings > Cellular > tap the eSIM line > Remove eSIM. On Android: Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > tap the eSIM > Erase. Deleting the eSIM frees up a profile slot. Make sure you don't need it anymore - once deleted, you can't reinstall the same profile.
What should I do if I see a 'No network' message after activating my eSIM?
If you see a 'No network' message after activation, try these steps in order: (1) Toggle airplane mode on for 10 seconds, then off. (2) Confirm data roaming is enabled for the eSIM line. (3) Manually select a network in cellular settings. (4) Restart your phone. If the issue continues, contact eSIMno support via WhatsApp or email.
What data plans are available for the Finland-voice eSIM?
eSIMno provides various data plans ranging from 1 GB to unlimited data, with options from 7 days to 90 days of service. Plans also include regional and lifetime options for travelers who want flexibility across multiple destinations.
Can I install multiple eSIMs on the same phone?
Yes. Modern iPhones and Android devices support multiple eSIM profiles - typically 5 to 8 stored profiles, with 1 or 2 active simultaneously. You can install eSIMs for different countries and switch between them in settings without removing any.
Will the eSIM affect my phone's battery life?
Running two SIM lines (physical + eSIM) uses slightly more battery than one, since the phone monitors both networks. The difference is usually 5-10% over a full day. To minimize impact, disable the line you're not actively using or turn off cellular data on the inactive line.
How can I check my data usage?
Log in to the eSIMno Center on our website or mobile app to see your remaining data balance and usage history. You can also check usage in your phone's cellular data settings - most devices show data consumed per line.
How can I purchase the Finland-voice eSIM?
You can purchase your eSIM directly from the eSIMno website - select a Finland-voice plan and complete the payment. Within minutes you'll receive an order confirmation email that contains everything you need to install: a QR code, a one-tap install link, the SM-DP+ address and activation code, plus an "Install eSIM" button. You can install straight from that email, or sign in anytime and go to Profile > My eSIMs > Install to get the same options.
