How the Voice Plan Works

The Belgium Voice eSIM provides mobile data combined with a real phone number for calls and SMS. Unlike data-only plans, you get a French (+33) number that functions as your working line throughout your trip.

Outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited, but this allowance applies only while you are physically located in geographic Europe—not limited to EU membership, but the continent itself. Call Belgian colleagues, text your Paris office, or reach contacts in Switzerland without watching your balance.

Incoming calls and SMS are free and work anywhere in the world, including destinations outside Europe. When a client returns your call from New York or your bank sends a verification code from your home country, those messages arrive at no cost and do not reduce your allowance. This two-directional design means you stay reachable globally while calling out across Europe.

The number is French, not Belgian. Anyone wanting to reach you dials your +33 number. For professional use, share this number with relevant contacts before or during your trip.

Connected Across Belgium

Handle calls and data seamlessly whether you are in meetings or between appointments.

Is This Plan Right for You?

The Voice plan fits when: Your work requires actual phone conversations—client calls, conference bridges, or coordination with local contacts. You need to receive SMS verification codes from banks, airlines, or authentication apps. Colleagues or clients expect to reach you by phone, not just through messaging apps. You travel across multiple European countries and want one number that works throughout the region.

A data-only plan fits better when: You communicate primarily through WhatsApp, Teams, or email and rarely make traditional calls. No one needs to reach you by phone number during your trip. You want to minimise costs and voice features add expense you will not use. If data without a phone number suits your travel style, the Belgium Unlimited offers a simpler option designed purely for internet access.

Be honest about your communication patterns. The Voice plan costs more than data-only alternatives, and that investment only pays off if you actually use the calling features. For broader data options and longer validity periods, explore the Belgium to compare what fits your specific needs.

Traveller Tips

  • Share your French (+33) number with key contacts before departure so they know how to reach you from day one.
  • Save important Belgian numbers—hotels, clients, local offices—before your trip so you can call them immediately on arrival.
  • Keep your home SIM installed as a secondary line if your phone supports dual SIM; the eSIM handles Belgium while your home number stays available for emergencies.
  • Test an outgoing call shortly after activation to confirm your line is working before you need it for something urgent.
  • Remember that outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited only within geographic Europe—if you travel onward to Africa or Asia, incoming still works free, but avoid making calls until you return to Europe.
  • Since the plan cannot be refilled, monitor your data usage through your phone settings and conserve if you are approaching your limit near the end of 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Belgium Voice eSIM provides a French (+33) number rather than a local Belgian number. This is how the service operates—callers reach you by dialling your French number regardless of which country you are visiting. Share this number with anyone who needs to contact you during your trip.
Outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited while you are physically located anywhere in geographic Europe. This is based on geography, not EU membership, so it includes countries like Switzerland and the UK. If you travel outside Europe, outgoing calls are no longer covered by the unlimited allowance.
Yes. Incoming calls and SMS are free and work anywhere in the world, not just in Europe. Whether someone calls you from Asia, the Americas, or any other region, the call reaches your French number at no charge and does not deduct from your allowance.
No. The Belgium Voice eSIM cannot be refilled or topped up. When your data, minutes, or SMS run out, or when the 30-day validity period ends, the line closes permanently. Choose a data allowance that covers your full trip when you purchase.
Yes. Incoming SMS messages arrive free of charge from anywhere in the world. Banks, airlines, and apps that send verification codes to your French number will reach you whether you are in Belgium, elsewhere in Europe, or travelling globally.
The line closes when validity ends, even if you still have unused data or minutes remaining. There is no option to extend or renew. If you need connectivity beyond 30 days, you would need to purchase a new eSIM plan.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Belgium Voice eSIM gives you what business travel actually demands: a real mobile number with unlimited outgoing calls and SMS while you are physically anywhere in geographic Europe, combined with mobile data. Incoming calls and SMS are free regardless of where in the world you travel, so colleagues, clients, and verification codes from banks or airlines reach you without touching your allowance. The number is French (+33), not a local Belgian number—callers simply dial your French number to connect with you. This plan earns its place when your work requires voice communication, not just data. App-based calls drop out in poor signal areas, cannot receive SMS verification codes, and look unprofessional when clients hear VoIP artefacts. If your Belgium trip involves actual phone conversations—confirming meetings, coordinating logistics, or handling urgent callbacks—the Voice plan delivers. If you only need internet access for email, maps, and messaging apps, a standard data plan costs less and may suit you better. Every Belgium Voice plan runs for 30 days. The line cannot be refilled or topped up: when your data, minutes, or SMS run out, or when the validity period ends, the line closes permanently. Plan your data needs accordingly before purchase, and consider a higher tier if your trip involves heavy usage or extends close to the 30-day limit.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

Can I use the eSIM to make video calls?
Yes - apps like FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams all work over your eSIM data. Video calls use about 200-400 MB per hour depending on quality, so factor that into your plan choice if you make long calls regularly.
How do I set up the eSIM on my device?
The fastest way is straight from your order confirmation email, which now contains - for each eSIM - the QR code, a one-tap install link, and the SM-DP+ / activation codes. On the phone you'll use, tap the one-tap install link; or, to use the QR, show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with that same phone (not another phone); or enter the codes manually. The email also has an "Install eSIM" button that opens your eSIM's detail page and launches the install pop-up (sign in if prompted), and you can reach the same pop-up anytime via Profile > My eSIMs > find your plan (shown as "Ready to install") > Install. After installing, turn Data Roaming ON for your eSIMno line (iPhone: Settings > Cellular; Android: Settings > Connections/Network) - without it the eSIM installs but shows no internet. Full guide in Help & Support.
Will the eSIM affect my phone's battery life?
Running two SIM lines (physical + eSIM) uses slightly more battery than one, since the phone monitors both networks. The difference is usually 5-10% over a full day. To minimize impact, disable the line you're not actively using or turn off cellular data on the inactive line.
What data plans are available for the Belgium-voice eSIM?
eSIMno provides various data plans ranging from 1 GB to unlimited data, with options from 7 days to 90 days of service. Plans also include regional and lifetime options for travelers who want flexibility across multiple destinations.
Can I extend my eSIM plan validity?
The validity of a package that is already running cannot be extended, but you can top up: a top-up adds a new package with its own data AND its own validity days. Packages run one at a time - the top-up waits in queue and activates automatically when your current package ends (data used up or days expired), and its own days start counting from that moment. In practice this keeps you connected longer, even though the current package's own end date does not move.
Can I use the eSIM on more than one device?
Each eSIM profile is tied to a single device once activated. If you need data on multiple devices (e.g., phone and tablet), you can either purchase separate eSIMs for each device or use the Personal Hotspot feature on your phone to share data with other devices.
Can I share data from my eSIM with someone else's phone?
Yes, through Personal Hotspot. Activate hotspot on your phone, share the password, and the other device connects to your data. Data used by connected devices counts toward your eSIM plan, so monitor usage to avoid running out faster than expected.
How can I check my data usage?
Log in to the eSIMno Center on our website or mobile app to see your remaining data balance and usage history. You can also check usage in your phone's cellular data settings - most devices show data consumed per line.
What happens if I pause my trip and return home?
Your eSIM keeps its validity period running whether you're using it or not - pausing your trip doesn't pause the timer. If you return home, the eSIM stays dormant on your device until you travel again or it expires. You can disable it in cellular settings to avoid accidental usage.
How do I top up my Belgium-voice eSIM?
To top up your Belgium-voice eSIM data, log in to the 'My eSIMs' section in the eSIMno Center on our website or mobile app. Select the eSIM you want to top up and follow the on-screen instructions to add more data without losing your current connection.
What payment methods does eSIMno accept?
eSIMno accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All transactions are processed through secure encrypted gateways, and we don't store full card details on our servers.
Is the eSIM connection secure?
eSIM connections are as secure as standard cellular connections - encrypted by the carrier network. For added security on public networks (cafes, airports), use a VPN. The eSIM profile itself is digitally signed and can't be cloned like a physical SIM.
