Belgium Unlimited eSIM — Daily Data for Groups and Hotspot Sharing

Three colleagues, one shared hotspot, and a week of client meetings across Brussels — you need a connection that never drops mid-presentation. eSIMno Belgium Unlimited gives you 1 GB of high-speed data every day, and when that runs out, the speed slows to 128 Kbps but the connection stays live for maps, messages, and email.

How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Choose Your Validity
Select a 1, 3, 5, or 7-day Belgium Unlimited plan based on your trip length. Remember, the line cannot be extended once purchased.
  2. Receive Your QR Code
Your eSIM QR code arrives by email within minutes. You can also access it anytime from your eSIMno account.
  3. Scan and Install
Go to your phone's eSIM settings, scan the QR code, and follow the prompts. Label it clearly so you recognise it as your Belgium data line.
  4. Activate on Arrival
Enable the eSIM as your data line when you land in Belgium. Your device will connect to Orange or Telenet automatically.
  5. Share If Needed
Turn on your phone's hotspot feature to share your connection with travel companions, laptops, or tablets.

How the Unlimited Plan Works

Each day you get 1 GB of high-speed data on Orange or Telenet networks. Use it however you like — browsing, navigation, tethering to other devices. Once that 1 GB is used, your speed drops to 128 Kbps for the rest of the day, but the connection stays active.

At 128 Kbps, you can still load maps, send and receive messages, and check email. However, video streaming will not work smoothly, and voice-over-data calls will struggle or fail entirely. This is a data-only eSIM — there is no phone number, no voice calls, and no SMS capability.

The daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it. After each reset, you get a fresh 1 GB of high-speed data.

Is This Plan Right for You?

The Belgium Unlimited plan fits you well if you are organising connectivity for a small group and want one shared hotspot rather than separate plans for everyone. It also works when you need guaranteed uptime — the connection never drops, even after the daily quota, so navigation and messaging stay available throughout the day. If your usage is unpredictable and you would rather have slow data than no data, this plan removes that anxiety.

This plan is not the best choice if you need consistent high-speed data all day for video calls or large uploads — the 128 Kbps fallback will not support those tasks. If your trip exceeds seven days, you will need to purchase a new eSIM partway through, which is inconvenient; in that case, explore the Belgium for longer validity options with standard data plans. And if you need a working phone number for calls or SMS, the Belgium Voice adds that capability where this plan cannot.

Traveler Tips

  • Download offline maps before your daily high-speed quota runs out — at 128 Kbps, downloading new map tiles is painfully slow.
  • Set your phone's hotspot password before you leave home so your travel companions can connect quickly on arrival.
  • The 1 GB quota is shared across all connected devices, so coordinate with your group to avoid burning through it on background app updates.
  • Disable automatic cloud photo uploads while tethering — they consume high-speed data fast and continue slowly at 128 Kbps, draining battery.
  • Check your phone's UTC offset to know when your daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC and plan intensive data use accordingly.
  • Keep a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal as your backup communication method — text messages work fine at 128 Kbps even when calls do not.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Belgium Unlimited eSIM delivers 1 GB of high-speed data every day through Orange and Telenet networks. Once you use that daily allowance, the connection slows to 128 Kbps but is never cut off. At that reduced speed, maps load, messages sync, and emails come through — but video streaming and voice-over-data calls will not work properly. This is a data-only plan with no phone number, no voice calls, and no SMS. This plan works well when you are the group organiser keeping everyone connected through a shared hotspot, or when you need guaranteed uptime more than guaranteed speed. It beats a standard data plan if you cannot risk disconnection during a busy day and you are comfortable with slower speeds once the quota is used. However, if your trip is longer than seven days, or if you need consistent high-speed data throughout the day without any slowdown, the standard Belgium data plans with fixed allocations will serve you better. The daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC — that is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it. The line cannot be refilled or topped up; when your validity period ends, the eSIM simply closes and you would need to purchase a new one. The longest available plan is seven days, so travellers staying longer should look at other options from the start.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

Can I use the eSIM right after purchase or do I need to wait?
Yes - you can install it immediately after purchase. Your order email arrives within minutes and contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual codes, plus an "Install eSIM" button; you can also sign in > My eSIMs > Install any time. Installing right away does not start your plan - the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and Data Roaming off until you are ready to start; if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on starts the countdown immediately.
How can I purchase the Belgium-unlimited eSIM?
You can purchase your eSIM directly from the eSIMno website - select a Belgium-unlimited plan and complete the payment. Within minutes you'll receive an order confirmation email that contains everything you need to install: a QR code, a one-tap install link, the SM-DP+ address and activation code, plus an "Install eSIM" button. You can install straight from that email, or sign in anytime and go to Profile > My eSIMs > Install to get the same options.
Should I enable data roaming for the eSIM?
Yes - you must enable data roaming for the eSIM line, even though there are no roaming charges. The eSIM connects to a local partner network and your phone treats this as roaming. Enable it: iPhone > Settings > Cellular > eSIMno line > Data Roaming ON; Android > Settings > Network > SIMs > eSIMno > Roaming ON. This setting only affects the eSIM, not your home SIM.
Can I install my eSIM before traveling?
Yes - setting it up before your trip is the easiest approach. Your confirmation email contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual SM-DP+ / activation codes (the same options are also available via sign in > Profile > My eSIMs > Install). While on Wi-Fi at home, install it with the one-tap link on your phone, or - to use the QR - show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with the phone you are setting up (not another phone). Installing does not start your plan: the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and its Data Roaming off until you are ready to start - if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on connects and starts the countdown immediately, even if you do not browse anything. Please note: once installed, an eSIM is considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.
How fast does the eSIM activate after I switch off airplane mode?
Activation typically takes 10-30 seconds after airplane mode is switched off, depending on local network availability. In some cases it's nearly instant; in remote areas it may take a minute or two. If it doesn't connect within 5 minutes, restart your phone or check that data roaming is enabled.
Can I get a refund after purchase?
Refunds are not available once an eSIM has been installed or activated - install codes are one-time-use, so an installed eSIM is considered used even if no data has been consumed. If you have not installed your eSIM yet and want a refund, contact support within the refund window stated at checkout. We recommend reviewing plan details carefully before purchase to avoid any issues.
Can I share data from my eSIM with someone else's phone?
Yes, through Personal Hotspot. Activate hotspot on your phone, share the password, and the other device connects to your data. Data used by connected devices counts toward your eSIM plan, so monitor usage to avoid running out faster than expected.
Do I need to deactivate my original SIM?
We recommend turning off cellular data and data roaming on your original SIM while abroad to avoid accidental roaming charges. You don't need to physically remove the SIM - just disable data and set the eSIM as your primary data line.
Can I make phone calls or send SMS?
eSIMno is a data-only service, so you can't make traditional voice calls or send SMS through the eSIM line. However, you can use messaging and calling apps over data - WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime, Telegram, Signal, and Google Meet all work normally.
Will I get notifications when my data is running low?
Yes. eSIMno sends email and push notifications when you've used 50%, 80%, and 100% of your data allowance. You can also check usage anytime in the eSIMno Center or in your phone's cellular settings to track consumption in real time.
When should I set up my eSIM?
A Wi-Fi connection is required to install your eSIM, so we recommend setting it up before you leave home. Activation can happen later, either right before departure or after you land at your destination - but the initial QR scan needs Wi-Fi.
What happens if I pause my trip and return home?
Your eSIM keeps its validity period running whether you're using it or not - pausing your trip doesn't pause the timer. If you return home, the eSIM stays dormant on your device until you travel again or it expires. You can disable it in cellular settings to avoid accidental usage.
