How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Pick your US data plan
Choose from daily, weekly, or multi-week options sized for a quick Midtown visit or a full cross-country trip. Plans connect through AT&T and Verizon — the same networks locals use.
  2. Install at home over WiFi
Scan the QR code eSIMno emails you and add the profile to your phone while you're still on stable home internet. Takes under 3 minutes with no store visit required.
  3. Keep your home SIM active
Dual-SIM phones let your home number stay on for incoming calls and texts. Set your new eSIM as the data line so everything internet-related — maps, tickets, rideshare — runs through US data.
  4. Activate after landing at JFK or Newark
Once the aircraft reaches the gate and you switch off airplane mode, your eSIM connects automatically. By the time you clear baggage claim, your phone is already pulling live directions to Rockefeller Center.
  5. Navigate Midtown with data ready
Your Top of the Rock confirmation QR, the B/D/F/M subway route from 47-50 Streets, and the dinner reservation near Radio City all load instantly — no lobby WiFi hunt, no SIM kiosk queue.

Traveler Tips

  • Book Top of the Rock timed-entry tickets online at least 2 days ahead for sunset slots — your confirmation QR needs data to load at the elevator queue.
  • The B, D, F, and M trains stop at 47-50 Streets–Rockefeller Center with direct concourse access; real-time arrival boards in the MTA app beat waiting on platform announcements.
  • Radio City Music Hall tours run around $30-$35 and book out on show days — have data ready to check availability while you're already in the plaza.
  • The ice rink at the Lower Plaza operates October through April; sessions and skate rental prices vary by time slot, so pull the official site on your phone before queuing.
  • Incoming calls reach your home number normally with dual-SIM — no setup needed. For outgoing calls, use WhatsApp or FaceTime over your eSIM data to avoid home-network roaming charges.

Why Data Matters at Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center packs multiple ticketed attractions, dining options, and transit connections into a few city blocks — each one pulling on your phone the moment you arrive. The Top of the Rock observation deck on floors 67-70 uses timed-entry; your confirmation email generates a QR code that staff scan at the elevator bank. Without data, you're stuck asking for the guest WiFi password while the queue builds behind you. The same pressure hits at Radio City Music Hall tours, where availability shifts by the hour and mobile booking beats walking to the box office.

Ground-level navigation matters just as much. The Channel Gardens promenade funnels foot traffic between Fifth Avenue and the Lower Plaza, but finding a specific restaurant along the way — or checking OpenTable wait times at three spots simultaneously — requires live data. Sharing a photo of the Prometheus statue to your group chat, coordinating a meetup under the Atlas sculpture, or pulling up subway directions to your next stop all happen faster when your phone isn't hunting for a captive-portal login.

Transit from Rockefeller Center fans out in every direction. The B/D/F/M at 47-50 Streets sits directly beneath the complex; the E and M at Fifth Avenue/53rd Street are a 4-minute walk north. Real-time MTA data in Citymapper or Google Maps shows which platform to head for and whether the next train is 2 minutes or 12. eSIMno plans for Rockefeller Center, New York City, New York, United States keep that live feed running so you spend less time staring at static schedules and more time moving through Midtown.

Visiting Rockefeller Center

The outdoor plazas, Channel Gardens, and ground-floor concourses stay publicly accessible year-round during daytime and evening hours at no charge. Individual attractions operate on separate tickets and schedules.

Top of the Rock

Open daily from around 9:00 AM to midnight, with last entry roughly an hour before closing. Standard adult tickets run approximately $40-$50; the Skylift rotating platform costs extra. Sunset slots sell out days ahead — book online and screenshot your QR in case lobby WiFi lags.

Radio City Music Hall

Stage Door Tours depart most days for around $30-$35 per person. Check the venue calendar before walking over; tours pause on heavy show days and the box office line moves slowly without a mobile booking.

The Rink

Sessions from October through April range roughly $20-$50 depending on time slot, plus skate rental. Peak hours around the Christmas tree lighting (late November through early January) draw heavy crowds; weekday mornings before 10:00 AM are quieter.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Install the profile at home over WiFi before your flight, then activate after landing — by the time you exit the B/D/F/M at 47-50 Streets, your phone is already pulling directions to the Channel Gardens and loading your Top of the Rock confirmation.

Yes. The open-air terraces on floors 67, 69, and 70 have strong macro coverage from AT&T and Verizon towers across Midtown. Signal stays solid for sharing photos, video calls, and pulling up your next reservation while you're still enjoying the view.

Dual-SIM phones let your home SIM stay on for incoming calls and texts — no setup needed. For outgoing calls, use WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Google Meet over your eSIMno data to avoid home-network roaming charges.

Take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station, then the LIRR or E train into Manhattan. The E stops at Fifth Avenue/53rd Street, a 4-minute walk from the plaza. Total travel time runs 60-75 minutes depending on connections — real-time MTA data in Citymapper helps you pick the fastest route.

The same plan covers all of Manhattan and the rest of the US. Head uptown to Central Park, downtown to One World Trade Center, or out to JFK for your departing flight — no extra setup, no roaming surprises.

Expect to load your Top of the Rock timed-entry QR at the elevator queue, check Radio City tour availability on the spot, pull OpenTable or Resy wait times for nearby restaurants, and share photos from the Channel Gardens to your group chat — all easier with data than hunting for lobby WiFi.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
Rockefeller Center sits at the heart of Midtown Manhattan, a 22-acre complex where visitors juggle timed-entry tickets for the Top of the Rock observation deck, restaurant bookings along the Channel Gardens, and subway directions across multiple lines. Having data ready before you arrive means your confirmation QR loads instantly at the elevator queue, your OpenTable booking pulls up without hunting for lobby WiFi, and your Maps app routes you to the B/D/F/M at 47-50 Streets without guesswork. The complex draws crowds year-round, from winter ice skaters at the Lower Plaza to summer visitors photographing the Prometheus statue. Each scenario demands live data: sharing photos to your group chat, checking Radio City show times, or coordinating a meetup spot near the Atlas statue on Fifth Avenue. Free WiFi inside retail spaces comes with captive-portal logins and spotty coverage once you step outside — your eSIM bypasses that friction entirely. eSIMno plans connect through AT&T and Verizon, giving you the same coverage New Yorkers use daily. Activate over home WiFi before your flight, and by the time you exit the subway at Rockefeller Center your phone is already pulling directions, syncing messages, and loading your next booking. The same plan keeps working if you head uptown to or downtown to the ferry — no extra setup, no roaming surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

How can I verify if my eSIM is activated?
There are two clear indicators: (1) your phone's status bar shows the local carrier name once you arrive at your destination, and (2) the data icon (4G, LTE, or 5G) appears next to the eSIMno line in your cellular settings. If neither shows up, toggle airplane mode off and on, or restart your phone.
Can I use the eSIM for my smartwatch?
Some smartwatches (Apple Watch Cellular, Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE) support eSIM, but they typically require a plan from your home carrier rather than a travel eSIM. eSIMno plans are designed for phones and tablets - check device compatibility before purchase if you intend to use a wearable.
Can I extend my eSIM plan validity?
The validity of a package that is already running cannot be extended, but you can top up: a top-up adds a new package with its own data AND its own validity days. Packages run one at a time - the top-up waits in queue and activates automatically when your current package ends (data used up or days expired), and its own days start counting from that moment. In practice this keeps you connected longer, even though the current package's own end date does not move.
Can I use my SIM card and eSIM at the same time?
Yes. On dual-SIM devices (most modern iPhones and Android phones), you can run your physical SIM and the eSIM simultaneously. Use your home SIM for calls and SMS, and the eSIM for mobile data. Keep in mind that leaving your home SIM active may trigger roaming charges if you use it for calls or texts abroad.
How can I purchase the United-states eSIM?
You can purchase your eSIM directly from the eSIMno website - select a United-states plan and complete the payment. Within minutes you'll receive an order confirmation email that contains everything you need to install: a QR code, a one-tap install link, the SM-DP+ address and activation code, plus an "Install eSIM" button. You can install straight from that email, or sign in anytime and go to Profile > My eSIMs > Install to get the same options.
Can I install multiple eSIMs on the same phone?
Yes. Modern iPhones and Android devices support multiple eSIM profiles - typically 5 to 8 stored profiles, with 1 or 2 active simultaneously. You can install eSIMs for different countries and switch between them in settings without removing any.
How do I top up my United-states eSIM?
To top up your United-states eSIM data, log in to the 'My eSIMs' section in the eSIMno Center on our website or mobile app. Select the eSIM you want to top up and follow the on-screen instructions to add more data without losing your current connection.
Can I install my eSIM before traveling?
Yes - setting it up before your trip is the easiest approach. Your confirmation email contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual SM-DP+ / activation codes (the same options are also available via sign in > Profile > My eSIMs > Install). While on Wi-Fi at home, install it with the one-tap link on your phone, or - to use the QR - show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with the phone you are setting up (not another phone). Installing does not start your plan: the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and its Data Roaming off until you are ready to start - if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on connects and starts the countdown immediately, even if you do not browse anything. Please note: once installed, an eSIM is considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.
Can I share data from my eSIM with someone else's phone?
Yes, through Personal Hotspot. Activate hotspot on your phone, share the password, and the other device connects to your data. Data used by connected devices counts toward your eSIM plan, so monitor usage to avoid running out faster than expected.
Can I use the eSIM to make video calls?
Yes - apps like FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams all work over your eSIM data. Video calls use about 200-400 MB per hour depending on quality, so factor that into your plan choice if you make long calls regularly.
Does the eSIM work on cruise ships or airplanes?
eSIMs use ground-based cellular networks, so they don't work in flight or at sea outside coastal coverage. They activate as soon as you connect to a partner network on land. For in-flight or maritime data, you'll need the airline or ship's onboard Wi-Fi.
When should I set up my eSIM?
A Wi-Fi connection is required to install your eSIM, so we recommend setting it up before you leave home. Activation can happen later, either right before departure or after you land at your destination - but the initial QR scan needs Wi-Fi.
