How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Purchase Online
Select your data allowance and complete checkout. Your eSIM QR code arrives by email within minutes.
  2. Install the eSIM
Scan the QR code in your phone settings to add the eSIM profile. You can do this before departure or upon arrival in Sweden.
  3. Activate Your Line
Enable the eSIM as your data line once in Sweden. Your French phone number becomes active for calls and SMS immediately.
  4. Share Your Number
Give your +33 number to hotels, tour operators, or anyone who needs to call you back. Incoming calls and SMS reach you worldwide.

How the Voice Plan Works

Your Sweden Voice eSIM provides mobile data alongside a real phone number capable of calls and SMS. The two directions work differently, and understanding this distinction matters.

Outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited, but only while you are physically located in geographic Europe. This means the entire continent—not tied to EU or EEA membership. Call Swedish restaurants to confirm reservations, text your travel companion in Norway, or phone ahead to a Finnish hotel.

Incoming calls and SMS are free and arrive anywhere in the world. If you leave Sweden and travel to Asia, Africa, or the Americas, people can still reach you by dialing your number. Verification codes from banks, airlines, and apps arrive on this number regardless of where you roam.

The number assigned is French (+33), not a local Swedish number. When giving it out, provide the full international format so callers know to dial the country code. Swedish businesses dial internationally routinely—this is not unusual for them.

Reachable Across Sweden

Your number rings wherever you are—cafés, ferries, hiking trails, or hotel lobbies across Sweden.

Is This Plan Right for You?

The Voice plan fits you if: You need to leave a callback number with Swedish businesses—repair shops, medical offices, tour operators, accommodation hosts. You expect SMS verification codes from banks or apps that refuse to send to VoIP numbers. You want one number that works for the duration of your trip without juggling multiple SIMs. You travel onward from Sweden and still need incoming calls to reach you.

The standard data plan fits better if: You communicate exclusively through WhatsApp, Signal, or other internet-based apps. Nobody needs to call you directly by phone number. You want the lowest cost and have no use for a mobile number. In that case, consider the Sweden Unlimited plan, which focuses on data without voice features.

If you need broader guidance on connectivity options for your Sweden trip, you can explore the Sweden for an overview of all available plans and what each offers.

Traveler Tips

  • Save your French +33 number in your own contacts so you can read it out quickly when asked for a callback number.
  • When giving your number to Swedish businesses, say it with the country code: plus three three, then the rest. Staff are accustomed to international numbers.
  • Test your incoming calls before you need them—have a friend dial your new number to confirm it rings through.
  • Keep your eSIM active as your voice line even when connected to hotel WiFi, so incoming calls still reach you.
  • Remember that outgoing calls only work in geographic Europe—if you travel beyond the continent, you can receive calls but not make them.
  • Since the plan cannot be refilled, note your remaining data in settings and adjust streaming habits if running low toward the end of your 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Voice eSIM provides a French (+33) number rather than a local Swedish number. This is how the service operates—your callers in Sweden simply dial the international number to reach you. Swedish businesses routinely call international numbers, so this works smoothly in practice. Just provide the full number including the +33 country code.
Yes. Incoming calls and SMS are free and work anywhere in the world. If you leave Sweden and travel to another continent, people can still reach you by dialing your French number. This is one of the key advantages of the Voice plan—your number stays reachable globally.
No—outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited only while you are physically in geographic Europe. The continent itself is the boundary, not EU or EEA membership. If you travel outside Europe, you can still receive calls and SMS for free, but you cannot make outgoing calls or send SMS from there.
No. The Voice eSIM cannot be refilled or topped up. When your data allowance, minutes, or the 30-day validity period ends—whichever comes first—the line closes permanently. If you need continued service, you would purchase a new eSIM.
Yes. The Voice eSIM provides a real mobile number, not a VoIP number, so SMS verification codes from banks, airlines, and apps arrive normally. Incoming SMS are free and reach you anywhere in the world, making this suitable for two-factor authentication.
All Sweden Voice plans run for 30 days from activation. The validity is fixed and cannot be extended. Plan your purchase so that the 30-day window covers your time in Sweden and any period afterward when you still need incoming calls to reach you.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Sweden Voice eSIM gives you mobile data plus a working phone number with calls and SMS capability. Outgoing calls and SMS are unlimited while you are physically located anywhere in geographic Europe—not limited to EU membership, but the actual continent. Incoming calls and SMS are free and work anywhere in the world, so callbacks from Swedish businesses or verification codes from your bank reach you whether you stay in Stockholm or travel onward to other continents. This plan fits travelers who must leave a contact number and actually answer when it rings: coordinating with repair shops, receiving appointment confirmations from clinics, or staying reachable for ferry rebookings. If you only need internet access for maps and messaging apps, the standard data plan costs less and may suit you better. But if missing a callback means missing your repaired luggage or losing a hard-won reservation, the Voice plan pays for itself in one answered call. All plans run exactly 30 days from activation. The line cannot be refilled or extended—when your data, minutes, or validity runs out, the service ends. Plan your purchase around your actual travel dates. The number you receive is French (+33), not a Swedish number, so give callers the full international format to ensure they reach you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

Should I enable data roaming for the eSIM?
Yes - you must enable data roaming for the eSIM line, even though there are no roaming charges. The eSIM connects to a local partner network and your phone treats this as roaming. Enable it: iPhone > Settings > Cellular > eSIMno line > Data Roaming ON; Android > Settings > Network > SIMs > eSIMno > Roaming ON. This setting only affects the eSIM, not your home SIM.
Will the eSIM work on my iPad?
Yes, if your iPad model supports eSIM. iPad Pro (3rd generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), and standard iPad (7th generation and later with cellular) all support eSIM. Installation works the same way as on iPhone.
How can I purchase the Sweden-voice eSIM?
You can purchase your eSIM directly from the eSIMno website - select a Sweden-voice plan and complete the payment. Within minutes you'll receive an order confirmation email that contains everything you need to install: a QR code, a one-tap install link, the SM-DP+ address and activation code, plus an "Install eSIM" button. You can install straight from that email, or sign in anytime and go to Profile > My eSIMs > Install to get the same options.
What happens when my data plan runs out?
When you use up your data allowance, your connection stops until you top up or purchase a new plan. You can top up directly from the eSIMno Center while connected to Wi-Fi, or buy a new plan if your validity period has expired.
Can I use the eSIM right after purchase or do I need to wait?
Yes - you can install it immediately after purchase. Your order email arrives within minutes and contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual codes, plus an "Install eSIM" button; you can also sign in > My eSIMs > Install any time. Installing right away does not start your plan - the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and Data Roaming off until you are ready to start; if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on starts the countdown immediately.
What network speeds can I expect?
Most eSIMno plans connect at 4G/LTE or 5G speeds depending on local network availability and your device's capabilities. Speed varies by location, network congestion, and signal strength. In major cities and tourist areas, expect speeds comparable to local mobile carriers.
Can I extend my eSIM plan validity?
The validity of a package that is already running cannot be extended, but you can top up: a top-up adds a new package with its own data AND its own validity days. Packages run one at a time - the top-up waits in queue and activates automatically when your current package ends (data used up or days expired), and its own days start counting from that moment. In practice this keeps you connected longer, even though the current package's own end date does not move.
Can I install my eSIM before traveling?
Yes - setting it up before your trip is the easiest approach. Your confirmation email contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual SM-DP+ / activation codes (the same options are also available via sign in > Profile > My eSIMs > Install). While on Wi-Fi at home, install it with the one-tap link on your phone, or - to use the QR - show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with the phone you are setting up (not another phone). Installing does not start your plan: the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and its Data Roaming off until you are ready to start - if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on connects and starts the countdown immediately, even if you do not browse anything. Please note: once installed, an eSIM is considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.
Can I make phone calls or send SMS?
eSIMno is a data-only service, so you can't make traditional voice calls or send SMS through the eSIM line. However, you can use messaging and calling apps over data - WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime, Telegram, Signal, and Google Meet all work normally.
Do I need to deactivate my original SIM?
We recommend turning off cellular data and data roaming on your original SIM while abroad to avoid accidental roaming charges. You don't need to physically remove the SIM - just disable data and set the eSIM as your primary data line.
What happens if I pause my trip and return home?
Your eSIM keeps its validity period running whether you're using it or not - pausing your trip doesn't pause the timer. If you return home, the eSIM stays dormant on your device until you travel again or it expires. You can disable it in cellular settings to avoid accidental usage.
What payment methods does eSIMno accept?
eSIMno accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All transactions are processed through secure encrypted gateways, and we don't store full card details on our servers.
