Spain Unlimited eSIM — Daily Data That Never Cuts Off

Twelve tabs open in Google Maps — walking route to the museum, metro transfer to the tapas place your friend messaged, opening hours for that rooftop bar, and a backup plan if it rains. Navigation-heavy days burn through data fast, and running dry mid-route is not an option. The eSIMno Spain Unlimited plan gives you 1 GB of high-speed data every day, and when that runs out, the connection slows to 128 Kbps but never cuts off — so your maps keep refreshing even at walking pace.

How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Purchase Online
Choose your validity (1–7 days) and complete checkout. Your eSIM QR code arrives by email within minutes.
  2. Install Before You Fly
Scan the QR code while still on Wi-Fi at home. The eSIM profile downloads and sits ready — no activation yet.
  3. Activate on Arrival
When you land in Spain, enable the eSIM line in your phone settings. Connection begins immediately on Movistar, Orange or Yoigo.
  4. Navigate Freely
Use your 1 GB daily high-speed data for maps and lookups. If you exceed it, the connection slows but never stops.

How the Unlimited Plan Works

Each day of your plan includes 1 GB of high-speed data. Use it for navigation, photo uploads, video calls — whatever you need. Once that gigabyte is spent, your speed drops to 128 Kbps for the remainder of the day. Crucially, the connection is never cut off. At 128 Kbps, Google Maps still functions, WhatsApp messages still arrive, and email still syncs. Video streaming and VoIP calls will struggle at this speed, but the essentials keep working.

The daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it. Every plan in this family — whether 1 day or 7 days — provides the same 1 GB daily high-speed quota.

This is a data-only plan. There is no phone number attached, which means no voice calls and no SMS. If you need to receive calls or verification texts, the Spain Voice includes a working number alongside your data.

Is This Plan Right for You?

The Unlimited plan fits when: You rely heavily on maps and navigation throughout the day. You send frequent messages and photos to friends or family back home. You want the peace of mind that comes from knowing your connection will never drop to zero. You are staying in Spain for a week or less. You do not need to make phone calls or receive SMS.

A standard data plan may suit you better when: You need more than 1 GB of high-speed data in a single day for video calls or uploads. You plan to stream video content regularly. Your trip exceeds 7 days — the Unlimited family maxes out at one week, so for longer stays you can explore the Spain for extended validity options. You need to receive calls or SMS verification codes — in that case, consider the Voice plan instead.

Being honest: if you know you will burn through data quickly on video content, the slower fallback speed will frustrate you. Choose accordingly.

Traveller Tips

  • Download offline maps for your Spanish destinations before you arrive — they work without any data and save your high-speed quota for live lookups.
  • The 128 Kbps fallback handles WhatsApp text and voice notes well, but switch to text if voice messages feel sluggish after your daily quota runs out.
  • Pre-load restaurant menus, museum pages and transit schedules over hotel Wi-Fi each morning to reduce on-the-go data use.
  • Since the plan cannot be topped up, consider starting with a longer validity than you think you need — unused days cost less than buying a second eSIM.
  • Set your phone to disable automatic app updates and cloud photo uploads over mobile data to stretch your daily gigabyte further.
  • Keep your phone's world clock set to UTC so you can see exactly when your daily quota resets without calculating time zones.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Your connection slows to 128 Kbps for the rest of the day but is never cut off. At 128 Kbps, maps continue to load, messaging apps work for text and images, and email syncs normally. Video streaming and VoIP calls will not perform well at this speed.
The daily high-speed quota resets at 00:00 UTC. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it.
No. The Spain Unlimited eSIM cannot be refilled or topped up. When your validity period ends, the line closes and you would need to purchase a new eSIM for continued service.
No. This is a data-only plan with no phone number attached. You cannot make or receive voice calls, and you cannot send or receive SMS. For a plan with calling capability, consider the Spain Voice eSIM instead.
Yes. At 128 Kbps, Google Maps and similar navigation apps load routes and update your position, though map tiles may render slightly slower than at full speed. For the smoothest experience, download offline maps for your area before your high-speed quota runs out.
The longest Unlimited plan is 7 days. For trips exceeding one week, the standard Spain data plans offer longer validity periods that better suit extended stays. You can purchase a new eSIM when your first one expires, but planning ahead with a longer-validity data plan is often simpler.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Spain Unlimited eSIM delivers 1 GB of high-speed data every day of your plan. Once you use that allowance, the connection slows to 128 Kbps for the rest of the day — but it never disconnects. At that reduced speed, maps continue to load, WhatsApp messages come through, and email syncs without issue. Video streaming and voice-over-IP calls will not work well at 128 Kbps, but navigation and text-based apps remain functional. The daily quota resets at 00:00 UTC; that is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it. This is a data-only plan with no phone number, no calls and no SMS. The Unlimited plan suits travellers who need constant connectivity throughout the day without watching a shrinking data bar. If you spend hours navigating unfamiliar streets, checking transit schedules, looking up reviews and messaging travel companions, the psychological comfort of an unbreakable connection matters more than raw speed. On the other hand, if you need to make phone calls, receive SMS verification codes, or stream video for long periods, the standard data plans with larger high-speed buckets may serve you better. Plan validity runs from 1 to 7 days. The line cannot be refilled or topped up — when your validity expires, the eSIM closes and you would need to purchase a new one. For trips longer than a week, consider the standard Spain data plans, which offer extended validity periods that better match longer itineraries.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

What should I do if I see a 'No network' message after activating my eSIM?
If you see a 'No network' message after activation, try these steps in order: (1) Toggle airplane mode on for 10 seconds, then off. (2) Confirm data roaming is enabled for the eSIM line. (3) Manually select a network in cellular settings. (4) Restart your phone. If the issue continues, contact eSIMno support via WhatsApp or email.
Can I extend my eSIM plan validity?
The validity of a package that is already running cannot be extended, but you can top up: a top-up adds a new package with its own data AND its own validity days. Packages run one at a time - the top-up waits in queue and activates automatically when your current package ends (data used up or days expired), and its own days start counting from that moment. In practice this keeps you connected longer, even though the current package's own end date does not move.
What network speeds can I expect?
Most eSIMno plans connect at 4G/LTE or 5G speeds depending on local network availability and your device's capabilities. Speed varies by location, network congestion, and signal strength. In major cities and tourist areas, expect speeds comparable to local mobile carriers.
How fast does the eSIM activate after I switch off airplane mode?
Activation typically takes 10-30 seconds after airplane mode is switched off, depending on local network availability. In some cases it's nearly instant; in remote areas it may take a minute or two. If it doesn't connect within 5 minutes, restart your phone or check that data roaming is enabled.
Can I get a refund after purchase?
Refunds are not available once an eSIM has been installed or activated - install codes are one-time-use, so an installed eSIM is considered used even if no data has been consumed. If you have not installed your eSIM yet and want a refund, contact support within the refund window stated at checkout. We recommend reviewing plan details carefully before purchase to avoid any issues.
Can I install my eSIM before traveling?
Yes - setting it up before your trip is the easiest approach. Your confirmation email contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual SM-DP+ / activation codes (the same options are also available via sign in > Profile > My eSIMs > Install). While on Wi-Fi at home, install it with the one-tap link on your phone, or - to use the QR - show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with the phone you are setting up (not another phone). Installing does not start your plan: the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and its Data Roaming off until you are ready to start - if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on connects and starts the countdown immediately, even if you do not browse anything. Please note: once installed, an eSIM is considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.
How long is the validity of the Spain-unlimited eSIM plans?
The validity of eSIM plans varies from 7 days to 90 days depending on the plan you choose. Lifetime options are also available for travelers who don't want their data to expire after a fixed period.
What makes eSIMno different from other eSIM services?
eSIMno partners directly with local operators in over 200 countries, eliminating intermediaries. This direct relationship lets us offer competitive pricing, extensive coverage, and faster activation than resellers who route data through third parties.
Will the eSIM affect my phone's battery life?
Running two SIM lines (physical + eSIM) uses slightly more battery than one, since the phone monitors both networks. The difference is usually 5-10% over a full day. To minimize impact, disable the line you're not actively using or turn off cellular data on the inactive line.
Can I use my SIM card and eSIM at the same time?
Yes. On dual-SIM devices (most modern iPhones and Android phones), you can run your physical SIM and the eSIM simultaneously. Use your home SIM for calls and SMS, and the eSIM for mobile data. Keep in mind that leaving your home SIM active may trigger roaming charges if you use it for calls or texts abroad.
Is the eSIM connection secure?
eSIM connections are as secure as standard cellular connections - encrypted by the carrier network. For added security on public networks (cafes, airports), use a VPN. The eSIM profile itself is digitally signed and can't be cloned like a physical SIM.
Is unlimited data really unlimited?
Unlimited plans provide unlimited data at high speed (4G/5G) up to a fair-use threshold defined per plan. Beyond that threshold, speeds may be reduced to 128 Kbps for the remainder of the validity period - still usable for messaging and basic browsing, but slower for streaming and video calls.
