Russia Unlimited eSIM – Stay Connected on Long Transit Days

Trans-Siberian corridor, hour fourteen, and your phone is the only thing standing between you and a missed connection update. The eSIMno Russian Federation Unlimited plan gives you 1 GB of high-speed data every day — and when that runs out, the connection slows to 128 Kbps but never cuts off. Maps keep working, messages keep sending, and you stay online from departure to arrival.

How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Purchase Online
Select your plan duration (1, 3, 5, or 7 days) and complete checkout. Your eSIM QR code arrives by email within minutes.
  2. Install Before Travel
Scan the QR code from your phone's settings while connected to Wi-Fi. Label it for easy identification later.
  3. Activate on Arrival
Enable the eSIM as your data line and turn on data roaming when you land in Russia. The validity period begins at first network connection.
  4. Monitor Your Usage
Track your daily 1 GB allowance in your phone settings. After the quota, your speed drops but your connection stays live.

How the Unlimited Plan Works

Each day, you receive 1 GB of high-speed data on the Beeline network. Use it for navigation, browsing, uploads, or anything else that requires fast connectivity. Once that 1 GB is spent, your speed reduces to 128 Kbps for the rest of the day — but your connection remains active.

At 128 Kbps, you can still send and receive messages on WhatsApp, Telegram, or email. Maps will load, though more slowly. What will not work: streaming video, making VoIP calls, or downloading large files. This is the honest trade-off — you are never cut off, but heavy use after quota means patience.

The daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it.

This is a data-only plan. There is no phone number attached, no ability to make or receive voice calls, and no SMS. If you need a local number or calling capability, this plan is not the right fit.

Connected at the Station

Station delays are easier when your maps and messages still work, even after your daily quota.

Is This Plan Right for You?

The Unlimited plan fits when: You are crossing Russia in a single long travel day or a series of them — airports, train stations, waiting rooms, border crossings. You need the peace of mind that your connection will not vanish entirely, even if speed drops. Your primary needs are maps, messaging, and occasional browsing. You want a fixed daily rhythm of data rather than worrying about running out mid-trip.

The standard data plan fits better when: Your trip exceeds seven days, since Unlimited plans cannot be extended or refilled — you would need to buy a new one. You need to stream video, make video calls, or upload large files regularly. You prefer a single large data pool to manage yourself rather than daily resets. You want the option to top up if you run low.

Being honest about these limits helps you choose correctly. If the Unlimited plan does not match your needs, the standard Russia data plans are designed for exactly those situations.

Traveler Tips

  • Download offline maps before your trip. At 128 Kbps, they will still work — but downloading them after quota is painful.
  • Pre-load boarding passes, tickets, and reservation confirmations. Accessing them later uses minimal data and works fine at reduced speed.
  • Disable auto-play on videos and automatic app updates to preserve your 1 GB high-speed allowance for when you need it most.
  • Set your phone to show a UTC clock alongside local time. The daily reset happens at 00:00 UTC, so knowing the offset helps you plan.
  • If your trip is longer than seven days, switch to a standard Russia data plan — Unlimited lines cannot be refilled or extended.
  • Test your eSIM installation before leaving home. Activating on arrival is easy, but confirming it works while on Wi-Fi saves stress.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Your connection speed drops to 128 Kbps for the rest of the day, but you are never disconnected. At this speed, maps, messaging apps, and email still work. Video streaming and voice calls over data will not function properly. Your full 1 GB resets the next day at 00:00 UTC.
Yes. At 128 Kbps, map applications will load — though more slowly than at full speed — and text-based messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and email function normally. What will not work at this speed: streaming video, making VoIP calls, or downloading large attachments.
No. The Unlimited line cannot be refilled or topped up. When your validity period ends (1, 3, 5, or 7 days depending on your plan), the line closes permanently. If you need continued service, you would purchase a new eSIM.
No. This is a data-only plan with no phone number, no voice calls, and no SMS capability. You can use data-based messaging apps and VoIP services (though VoIP will not work reliably at 128 Kbps after your daily quota).
The daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it.
The longest Unlimited plan available is seven days. For longer trips, we recommend the standard Russia data plans instead, which offer larger data pools and the flexibility to top up if needed. The Unlimited line cannot be extended once purchased.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Russian Federation Unlimited eSIM delivers 1 GB of high-speed data each day on the Beeline network. Once you use that daily allowance, your connection speed drops to 128 Kbps for the remainder of the day. At 128 Kbps, you can still load maps, send messages, and check email — but video streaming and voice calls over data will not work properly. This is a data-only plan with no phone number, no voice calls, and no SMS capability. This plan works best when you need guaranteed connectivity over a long travel day — airport layovers, overnight trains, border crossings where free Wi-Fi is unreliable or nonexistent. If your trip involves heavy data use like video uploads, streaming, or large file transfers, the standard Russia data plans offer more flexibility with larger one-time allowances. For trips longer than seven days, those plans are also the better choice since the Unlimited line cannot be extended. The daily quota resets at 00:00 UTC — that is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it. Once the plan's validity period ends, the line closes permanently. There is no option to refill or top up; you would need to purchase a new eSIM for continued service. Plans range from one to seven days, giving you control over exactly how much coverage you need for your transit through Russia.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

How long is the validity of the Russian-federation-unlimited eSIM plans?
The validity of eSIM plans varies from 7 days to 90 days depending on the plan you choose. Lifetime options are also available for travelers who don't want their data to expire after a fixed period.
Will I get notifications when my data is running low?
Yes. eSIMno sends email and push notifications when you've used 50%, 80%, and 100% of your data allowance. You can also check usage anytime in the eSIMno Center or in your phone's cellular settings to track consumption in real time.
What happens when my data plan runs out?
When you use up your data allowance, your connection stops until you top up or purchase a new plan. You can top up directly from the eSIMno Center while connected to Wi-Fi, or buy a new plan if your validity period has expired.
Can I get a refund after purchase?
Refunds are not available once an eSIM has been installed or activated - install codes are one-time-use, so an installed eSIM is considered used even if no data has been consumed. If you have not installed your eSIM yet and want a refund, contact support within the refund window stated at checkout. We recommend reviewing plan details carefully before purchase to avoid any issues.
Can I use the eSIM right after purchase or do I need to wait?
Yes - you can install it immediately after purchase. Your order email arrives within minutes and contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual codes, plus an "Install eSIM" button; you can also sign in > My eSIMs > Install any time. Installing right away does not start your plan - the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and Data Roaming off until you are ready to start; if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on starts the countdown immediately.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number while using an eSIM?
Yes. Your WhatsApp number stays linked to your home SIM, so all your chats, contacts, and groups remain unchanged. WhatsApp uses data (not the SIM line directly) for messages and calls, so it works seamlessly over your eSIMno data.
Does the eSIM work on cruise ships or airplanes?
eSIMs use ground-based cellular networks, so they don't work in flight or at sea outside coastal coverage. They activate as soon as you connect to a partner network on land. For in-flight or maritime data, you'll need the airline or ship's onboard Wi-Fi.
Can I share data from my eSIM with someone else's phone?
Yes, through Personal Hotspot. Activate hotspot on your phone, share the password, and the other device connects to your data. Data used by connected devices counts toward your eSIM plan, so monitor usage to avoid running out faster than expected.
Can I install my eSIM before traveling?
Yes - setting it up before your trip is the easiest approach. Your confirmation email contains the QR code, a one-tap install link and the manual SM-DP+ / activation codes (the same options are also available via sign in > Profile > My eSIMs > Install). While on Wi-Fi at home, install it with the one-tap link on your phone, or - to use the QR - show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with the phone you are setting up (not another phone). Installing does not start your plan: the validity countdown only begins when the eSIM connects to a mobile network inside your plan's coverage area. Keep the eSIM line and its Data Roaming off until you are ready to start - if your plan covers the country you are in right now, turning the line on connects and starts the countdown immediately, even if you do not browse anything. Please note: once installed, an eSIM is considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.
Is unlimited data really unlimited?
Unlimited plans provide unlimited data at high speed (4G/5G) up to a fair-use threshold defined per plan. Beyond that threshold, speeds may be reduced to 128 Kbps for the remainder of the validity period - still usable for messaging and basic browsing, but slower for streaming and video calls.
Is the eSIM connection secure?
eSIM connections are as secure as standard cellular connections - encrypted by the carrier network. For added security on public networks (cafes, airports), use a VPN. The eSIM profile itself is digitally signed and can't be cloned like a physical SIM.
What network speeds can I expect?
Most eSIMno plans connect at 4G/LTE or 5G speeds depending on local network availability and your device's capabilities. Speed varies by location, network congestion, and signal strength. In major cities and tourist areas, expect speeds comparable to local mobile carriers.
