Norway Unlimited eSIM – Upload All Day with Daily High-Speed Data

Cloud sync spinning on that fjord timelapse while your phone shows full bars but zero progress — you have burned through your data allowance again. The eSIMno Norway Unlimited plan gives you 1 GB of high-speed data every day, and when that runs out the connection slows to 128 Kbps instead of cutting off completely. Maps still load, messages still send, and tomorrow brings a fresh gigabyte.

How to Get Your eSIM

  1. Purchase and receive your QR code
Complete your order on eSIMno and the QR code arrives by email within minutes. You can install it before you travel.
  2. Scan and install
On iPhone go to Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM. On Android go to Settings › Network › SIMs › Add eSIM. Scan the QR code when prompted.
  3. Label your new line
Name it something clear like 'Norway Travel' so you can identify it easily in your settings.
  4. Enable data roaming
Once in Norway, set the eSIM as your data line and turn on data roaming. Your connection activates on first use.
  5. Keep your main SIM for calls
This is a data-only plan. Leave your home SIM active for any calls or texts you need to receive.

How the Unlimited Plan Works

Each day you receive 1 GB of high-speed data on the Telenor network. Use it for uploads, video calls, navigation or anything else that needs bandwidth. When that gigabyte is gone, your speed drops to 128 Kbps for the rest of the day — slow, but never disconnected.

At 00:00 UTC your daily allowance resets and you have another fresh gigabyte. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it.

The 128 Kbps fallback speed is enough for Google Maps directions, WhatsApp messages, emails and basic web browsing. It is not enough for video streaming, video calls or large file transfers. Be honest with yourself about what you need: if the reduced speed will frustrate you, monitor your usage during high-speed hours.

This is a data-only eSIM. There is no phone number, no voice calls and no SMS included.

Stay Connected While You Work

Your connection slows after 1 GB but never drops — maps and messages keep working.

Is This Plan Right for You?

The Norway Unlimited plan fits you well if you upload photos and videos throughout the day and want the security of a connection that never cuts out completely. It works for travellers who can structure their heavy data use around a daily 1 GB budget, pushing large files in the morning and relying on the slower fallback for maps and messages later. If you are staying seven days or fewer and value the daily reset over a single large data pool, this plan makes sense.

Choose a different option if your trip runs longer than seven days — this plan cannot be refilled or extended, and when validity ends the line closes. For trips of a week or more, visit the Norway to find standard data plans with longer validity. If you need to make phone calls or send SMS, this data-only plan will not help; the Norway Voice includes a working phone number for calls and texts. And if you require sustained high-speed data for hours at a time without any throttling, a larger one-time data bundle will serve you better than a daily quota.

Traveller Tips

  • Schedule large cloud uploads for early in your data day when you have full high-speed allowance — leave maps and messaging for after the slowdown.
  • Download offline maps of Norway in Google Maps or Apple Maps before your trip so navigation works smoothly even at 128 Kbps.
  • The daily reset happens at 00:00 UTC, so check your phone's world clock to know when your fresh gigabyte arrives.
  • Keep your home SIM installed for any calls or texts you need to receive — this plan is data only with no phone number.
  • For trips longer than seven days, purchase a second eSIM before your first one expires or switch to a standard data plan with extended validity.
  • Compress photos before uploading if you want to stretch your daily high-speed allowance further — many cloud apps offer this setting.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Your connection continues at 128 Kbps until the next daily reset. This reduced speed is enough for maps, messaging and email but will not support video streaming or video calls. You are never cut off completely.
The reset happens at 00:00 UTC each day. That is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it.
No. The Norway Unlimited eSIM cannot be refilled or extended. When your validity period ends, the line closes and you would need to purchase a new eSIM if you want to continue.
No. This is a data-only eSIM with no phone number, no voice calls and no SMS. Keep your home SIM active if you need to make or receive calls.
Yes. Google Maps and Apple Maps work at 128 Kbps, especially if you download offline maps beforehand. Messaging apps like WhatsApp and email also function normally at the reduced speed.
The longest Norway Unlimited plan is seven days. For longer trips, consider the standard Norway data plans which offer extended validity periods and larger one-time data allowances.

Seamless global eSIM coverage

Get Started
The Norway Unlimited eSIM delivers 1 GB of high-speed data every day on the Telenor network. Once you use that daily allowance, your connection continues at 128 Kbps until the next reset at 00:00 UTC — that is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it. The reduced speed handles maps, messaging and email without issue, but video streaming and voice-over-data calls will not work well at 128 Kbps. This is a data-only plan with no phone number, no voice calls and no SMS. This plan suits travellers who push large files throughout the day and need the peace of mind that their connection will never vanish entirely. If you shoot RAW photos along the Lofoten coastline or upload video clips from Bergen's harbour, the daily reset means you start fresh each morning rather than rationing a fixed pool across your whole trip. That said, if your work demands sustained high-speed uploads for hours at a stretch, or you need more than seven days of coverage, the standard data bundles with larger one-time allowances may serve you better. The longest Norway Unlimited plan runs for seven days and cannot be refilled or extended — when validity expires, the line closes and you would need to purchase a new eSIM. For trips beyond a week, consider the regular Norway data plans that offer longer validity periods. This honest structure means you know exactly what you are buying: a safety net that keeps you online at reduced speed rather than leaving you stranded when the high-speed quota is gone.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find helpful information to answer your questions

How do I set up the eSIM on my device?
The fastest way is straight from your order confirmation email, which now contains - for each eSIM - the QR code, a one-tap install link, and the SM-DP+ / activation codes. On the phone you'll use, tap the one-tap install link; or, to use the QR, show it on another screen or a printout and scan it with that same phone (not another phone); or enter the codes manually. The email also has an "Install eSIM" button that opens your eSIM's detail page and launches the install pop-up (sign in if prompted), and you can reach the same pop-up anytime via Profile > My eSIMs > find your plan (shown as "Ready to install") > Install. After installing, turn Data Roaming ON for your eSIMno line (iPhone: Settings > Cellular; Android: Settings > Connections/Network) - without it the eSIM installs but shows no internet. Full guide in Help & Support.
Is the eSIM connection secure?
eSIM connections are as secure as standard cellular connections - encrypted by the carrier network. For added security on public networks (cafes, airports), use a VPN. The eSIM profile itself is digitally signed and can't be cloned like a physical SIM.
Can I use the eSIM on more than one device?
Each eSIM profile is tied to a single device once activated. If you need data on multiple devices (e.g., phone and tablet), you can either purchase separate eSIMs for each device or use the Personal Hotspot feature on your phone to share data with other devices.
What happens when my data plan runs out?
When you use up your data allowance, your connection stops until you top up or purchase a new plan. You can top up directly from the eSIMno Center while connected to Wi-Fi, or buy a new plan if your validity period has expired.
Does the eSIM work in rural areas and small towns?
Coverage depends on the partner network's reach in Norway-unlimited. Major cities, tourist areas, and highways typically have strong 4G/5G coverage. Remote rural areas may have weaker signal or fall back to 3G. Download offline maps before heading off the beaten path.
Can I extend my eSIM plan validity?
The validity of a package that is already running cannot be extended, but you can top up: a top-up adds a new package with its own data AND its own validity days. Packages run one at a time - the top-up waits in queue and activates automatically when your current package ends (data used up or days expired), and its own days start counting from that moment. In practice this keeps you connected longer, even though the current package's own end date does not move.
When should I set up my eSIM?
A Wi-Fi connection is required to install your eSIM, so we recommend setting it up before you leave home. Activation can happen later, either right before departure or after you land at your destination - but the initial QR scan needs Wi-Fi.
What customer support is available if I have issues?
eSIMno offers 24/7 support via WhatsApp and email. Our human support team - not bots - handles installation help, troubleshooting, billing questions, and refund inquiries. Most issues are resolved within minutes during business hours and within a few hours overnight.
Can I share data from my eSIM with someone else's phone?
Yes, through Personal Hotspot. Activate hotspot on your phone, share the password, and the other device connects to your data. Data used by connected devices counts toward your eSIM plan, so monitor usage to avoid running out faster than expected.
How can I verify if my eSIM is activated?
There are two clear indicators: (1) your phone's status bar shows the local carrier name once you arrive at your destination, and (2) the data icon (4G, LTE, or 5G) appears next to the eSIMno line in your cellular settings. If neither shows up, toggle airplane mode off and on, or restart your phone.
Will the eSIM work on my iPad?
Yes, if your iPad model supports eSIM. iPad Pro (3rd generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), and standard iPad (7th generation and later with cellular) all support eSIM. Installation works the same way as on iPhone.
How do I top up my Norway-unlimited eSIM?
To top up your Norway-unlimited eSIM data, log in to the 'My eSIMs' section in the eSIMno Center on our website or mobile app. Select the eSIM you want to top up and follow the on-screen instructions to add more data without losing your current connection.
