How the Unlimited Plan Works
Each day you receive 1 GB of high-speed data on the Vodafone network. Use it for video calls, file uploads, tethering your laptop — whatever your work requires. When the 1 GB runs out, your connection slows to 128 Kbps for the rest of that day. Crucially, it never cuts off entirely.
At 128 Kbps, expect basic functionality only. Google Maps will load (slowly), WhatsApp messages will send, and email will sync. Video streaming and voice-over-IP calls will not work reliably at this speed. Plan your bandwidth-heavy tasks for when you have high-speed data available.
The daily allowance resets at 00:00 UTC; that is a fixed moment in UTC, not midnight where you are, so check your phone's UTC offset if you plan around it.
This is a data-only plan. There is no phone number attached, so you cannot make or receive traditional calls or SMS. If you need a working number for local calls or receiving verification codes, the Iceland Voice includes calling and texting capabilities.

The Iceland Unlimited eSIM fits you well if your trip is seven days or shorter, if you need a reliable morning work session with tethering, and if the peace of mind of never being fully disconnected matters more than sustained high-speed data. It works for the remote worker who can batch heavy uploads into the high-speed window, then switch to lighter tasks afterward.
This plan is not the best choice if you need consistent full-speed data throughout the day, if you are staying longer than a week, or if you require a phone number for calls and SMS. For extended trips, check the Iceland for standard data plans with longer validity and higher total allowances. Those plans offer more flexibility when you cannot predict your daily usage patterns or when your work demands video calls spread across the entire day.
